ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL/GOLF SHOP MANAGER JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Concept: The Assistant Pro/Golf Shop Manager assists the Director of Golf in the day-to-day operations of the golf shop and outside services. This position is responsible for assisting in all golf shop operations with particular focus on providing customer service through helping guests with registering for play, merchandise sales and monitoring pace of play. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction of all customers.

Reports to: Director of Golf

Specific Responsibilities - include but are not limited to:

• Assist with golfer check-in and fee collection; control and manage play
• Assist with all opening and closing procedures
• Assist in facility tournament operations including weekly events
• Assist with supervision of outside service staff to ensure the highest quality of customer service is achieved
• Assist in the inventory control of hard goods, soft goods, and special orders including: display and sales
• Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times
• Assist with the administration of applicable staff via recordkeeping, work schedules, damaged reports etc. in accordance with facility human resource policies
• Assist in coordinating golf activities with other departments

The Golf Shop Assistant Manager position is a pivotal piece in our businesses organizational chart. This is a hospitality focused position where one must strive for total customer satisfaction while in turn maintaining a healthy work environment for all fellow employees. Upholding all club policies while effectively following procedures is crucial to the success of this position.

• Uphold Atlantic National Golf Club's policies & procedures at all times
• Promote facility's business practices in a positive manner
• Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations
• Fundamental supervisory practices and principles
• Act as a role model for all employees by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all employees
• Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills
• Service and customer focused attitude
• Experienced in written and oral business communications
• Experienced computer user including; Microsoft Word and Excel. Proficient in other applications, i.e. email, internet, tournament and database
• Ensure total guest satisfaction
• Assist in all Golf Shop operations
  • Monitoring pace of play
  • Tee Sheet management
  • Tournament operations
  • Merchandising - Assisting with:
    • Ensuring proper inventory levels
    • Restocking
    • Maintaining Cleanliness of displays and fixtures
    • Signage & promotions
  • Maintain constant lines of communication between department heads

Experience Required

Experience managing a Golf Shop or as an Assistant Pro. Pga Associate/Member a bonus but not required.
