Join WCI as an Assistant House Manager!
WCI - Work, Community, Independence is a non-profit human services agency dedicated to empowering individuals with Acquired Brain Injury (ABI), intellectual and developmental disabilities, and other disabilities to lead rich, meaningful lives at home, at work, and in their communities. We are seeking an Assistant House Manager for our group home location in Waltham, MA.
Qualifications:
Education: Associate's degree preferred; high school diploma/equivalent required.
Experience: At least one year of experience with individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities preferred.
Licenses and Certifications:
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
MAP certification within six months of hire date (if not already certified).
Experience with emotional and behavioral challenges, including certification in required restraint training (currently PABC), preferred at some sites.
Main Responsibilities:
Site Supervision: Act as Site Supervisor in the absence of the House Manager.
ISP Development: Collaborate with the House Manager to develop, monitor, and implement Individual Support Plans (ISP), including assessments, goal identification, support strategies, data collection, and progress reports.
Staff Training and Supervision: Train, supervise, and evaluate staff as assigned by the House Manager.
Advocacy: Promote human rights, WCI’s mission, and values by fostering community involvement, relationships, respect, dignity, personal well-being, personal growth, and individual control.
Home Environment: Create and maintain a sense of home for each individual.
Specific Responsibilities:
Respect and Dignity: Treat individuals with respect and dignity at all times, acting as a role model and advocate.
Staff Scheduling: Assist the House Manager with staffing schedules as needed.
Orientation and Training: Provide 20-hour on-site orientation and training as assigned.
Healthcare Management: Conduct healthcare appointments and complete documentation as assigned.
Meeting Preparation: Prepare agendas for supervision and house meetings as assigned.
Supervision: Conduct documented supervision at least monthly with assigned supervisees.
Health Care Training: Train certified staff in health care and related plans for individuals, following all WCI and DPH/DDS medication administration policies and procedures.
Documentation: Complete all necessary documentation.
Skill Development: Train staff and teach individuals personal care, homemaking, money management, meal preparation, shopping skills, community involvement, and other identified skills.
Advocacy: Act as an advocate for at least 1-2 individuals.
Progress Reporting: Write progress reports as assigned.
Safety Training: Conduct or train staff and individuals in fire drills, safety plans, emergency disaster plans, and search plans.
Home Maintenance: Maintain a clean, home-like environment through supervision of individual assigned chores and completion of staff assigned daily/weekly chores.
Communication: Maintain contact with appropriate personnel at employment/day sites regarding schedule changes, medical appointments, transportation, and other needs.
Behavior Plans: Implement behavior plans and physical interventions as appropriate and as trained.
Training Competency: Complete and demonstrate competency through certification of all agency in-service training, as well as individual and apartment-specific training.
Vehicle Training: Train staff in van use, review WCI’s vehicle policy, and assist with van/vehicle maintenance as assigned.
Additional Duties: Perform any other job duties as assigned by the chain of command.

Hourly Rate: $23.25
