Portsmouth Country Club has been a premier golfing destination in New England since 1901. As a private, member-owned club, we offer an exceptional golf experience on our expertly designed, Robert Trent Jones course. Nestled along the scenic shores of Great Bay, our course blends stunning natural seaside beauty with top-tier playability. Portsmouth is an extremely active club which has roughly 750 members that play approximately 27,000 rounds annually.

Portsmouth is seeking an Assistant who will work closely with the Golf Professional staff on day-to-day operations. Duties would consist of but not limited to assisting with all Tournament Operations with a focus on Ladies Golf, assist in the Instructional Programs, assist with the Junior Golf, assisting the Merchandiser in the retail shop, provide exceptional service to all members and guests , answering the phone, booking tee times , tournament registration, char g ing Members and Guests tee times and retail purchases. We are looking for an enthusiastic, energetic and motivated individual that will play an active role in the Golf Operation.

Length of Employment:

• Start Date - April 15 (flexible)

• End Date - October 15 (flexible)

Experience Required

The ideal candidate would be enrolled in the PGM program with the goal of becoming a Head Golf Professional

Essential Responsibilities

Responsibilities:

• Provide Customer Service - answering phone, booking tee times, tournament registration

• Assist in the day-to-day golf operation, focus on Ladies Golf and Junior Golf.

• Encouraged to play golf with the Members.

• Must be highly motivated, energetic and enthusiastic.

Tournament Operations:

• Oversee WGA and Ladies Monday League; meeting with tournament chair's to establish budgets, formats & awards.

• Assist with all Men's & Outside events.

• Assist with selecting and purchasing awards for club tournaments.

Junior Golf:

• Assist with the Junior Golf School, Junior Golf Camp and PGA Jr. League

• Implement, manage and direct Junior Golf Tournaments and Club Championship

• Travel to PGA Jr. League away matches

Outside Operations:

• Communicate daily with the Outside Operation Service staff and ensuring exceptional service is being provided.

Golf Shop Buyer/Manager:

• Assist in creating Visual merchandise displays

• Assist in Shipping, Receiving Merchandise for Golf Shop

• Assist in managing daily business operations

• Assist with tournament billing and accounting management

• Sales Associate

Member Services:

• Provide any and all services for members - promoting and maintaining the exceptional Portsmouth experience
