Columbia Country Club, located in Columbia, South Carolina, is seeking a motivated Assistant Golf Professional to join our team and assist the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional in delivering an exceptional private club golf experience.

Founded in 1904, Columbia Country Club is one of the region's most historic and respected private clubs, known for its rich traditions, strong membership, and commitment to the game of golf. The club has recently completed a significant golf course restoration, returning many elements of the course closer to its original design intent while enhancing overall playing conditions and the member experience.

Columbia Country Club features a vibrant and active golf program highlighted by a full calendar of member tournaments, leagues, and social events. Signature events such as the Member-Member, Member-Guest, and numerous club championships serve as cornerstones of the club's competitive and social golf culture.

The Assistant Golf Professional will play a key role in the daily operation of the golf program while gaining valuable experience in tournament administration, instruction, merchandising, and member engagement. This position offers an excellent opportunity for a young golf professional to develop within a traditional private club setting while working alongside a team dedicated to providing a high level of service and hospitality to members and their guests.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in the planning, organization, and execution of member tournaments and club events, including tournament setup, scoring, and administration utilizing Golf Genius software.
• Support and help coordinate weekly member games and competitions, encouraging member participation and engagement within the club.
• Provide individual and group golf instruction for members and guests, including junior programs, ladies' clinics, and beginner player development initiatives.
• Develop and maintain strong relationships with members and their guests, delivering exceptional service and ensuring an outstanding club experience.
• Assist with the daily operation of the golf shop, including merchandising, inventory management, point-of-sale operations, and maintaining a professional retail environment.
• Collaborate closely with course maintenance staff to ensure the golf course and practice facilities are presented in excellent condition for members and guests.
• Assist with tee sheet management, member check-in, and guest services, ensuring smooth daily golf operations.
• Support and promote club leagues, member programming, and special events, helping to build participation and enthusiasm within the membership.
• Provide a high level of hospitality and professionalism, helping create a welcoming atmosphere that reflects the standards of Columbia Country Club.
• Work closely with the Director of Golf and Head Golf Professional to ensure a seamless golf operation and a consistently exceptional member experience.
