Description
OverviewThe Royal Fox Country Club is in St. Charles, IL. This private club has a total of 250 members and does 15,000 rounds annually. The course was designed by Richard Nugent in 1989 to evolve around the existing natural environment while providing a challenging 6,816-yard par 71 golf course. The Royal Fox has been awarded the honor of hosting the prestigious Illinois PGA Open seven times in eleven years. Flexible scheduling to promote Work-Life balance is a focus of our operation and will be a priority for management.
Position Overview
The Assistant Golf Professional acts as a member of the Professional Staff in the management of the day-to-day golf operations of the facility. The Assistant Golf Professional will work closely with the Director of Golf and other golf professionals to accomplish the short- and long-term goals of the Royal Fox Country Club. All duties of the position shall be performed with a commitment to the highest level of customer service and total satisfaction for members and guests.
Experience Required
- Maintain PGA membership in good standing in an active classification
- Actively pursue and achieve PGA membership (if a PGA associate).
- Fundamental knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf facility operations and tournament operations
- Strong organizational, planning and prioritization skills, effective communication skills orally and in writing
- Self-motivated with a service and customer focused attitude
- Exceptional tournament operations experience utilizing Golf Genius, Proficient with common Microsoft Office and Jonas POS systems.
- Proficient with USGA handicap system and CDGA handicap software.
Essential Responsibilities

- Maintain a welcoming and positive attitude to promote a quality golf experience to members and guests and to enrich the work environment for team members.
- Conduct oneself in a professional manner and maintain a professional image at all times.
- Assist in the promotion, planning, organization and execution of the highest quality golf events for members, guests and outside entities.
- Play golf with members of all skill levels
Operations
- Assist with golfer check-in, control, and manage play and tee sheet data capture and optimization
- Assist with all opening and closing procedures
- Train and supervise Golf Outside Operations Staff with the goal of ensuring the highest quality customer experience
- Assist in managing golf cart fleet, practice facility and club storage.
Golf Retail
- Execute the daily operations of the golf shop
- Offer specialist advice using product knowledge, recommend products and services to exceed customer expectations
Assist in inventory control of hard goods, soft goods and special orders including: ordering procedures, receiving procedures and point of sale. - Ensure that the golf shop is clean, orderly, well stocked and professionally presented at all times.
- Monitor and regularly update sales display areas and merchandise high traffic areas.
Member Services
- Assist in providing club repair and club fitting services
- Monitor and remain visible at the range and other practice areas to provide member service and ensure club standards
- Perform starter and marshal duties
- Support an active Junior Golf Program that includes clinic, school, and individual instruction, PGA Junior League Team and Junior Interclub.
