Overview

Wawonowin is seeking an enthusiastic, service-driven Assistant Golf Professional to lead daily golf operations and deliver an exceptional experience for our members and guests. This role is ideal for a golf professional who enjoys leadership, merchandising, tournament operations, and being actively involved on the golf course.

The Assistant Golf Professional is part of the team that is responsible for overseeing Pro Shop and Bag Room operations, managing staff, coordinating tournaments and leagues, and driving merchandise sales. This position plays a key role in ensuring outstanding customer service while maintaining efficient golf operations and pace of play.

Experience Required

• Previous golf course or golf operations experience required
• PGA Membership or PGA Track status preferred
• Strong customer service, leadership, and organizational skills
• Familiarity with Golf Genius and POS systems a plus
• High School Diploma required
• Valid driver's license

Essential Responsibilities

• Hire, train, supervise, schedule, and evaluate Pro Shop and Bag Room staff
• Establish and maintain operational standards, procedures, and opening/closing checklists
• Lead by example in providing exceptional member and guest service
• Manage tee times, phone inquiries, and daily golf operations
• Purchase, receive, price, and manage Pro Shop merchandise and inventory
• Conduct monthly physical inventory and monitor shop supplies
• Actively manage pace of play and on-course operations
• Administer GAM/GHIN/USGA handicaps
• Organize and manage leagues, tournaments, and outings using Golf Genius software
• Coordinate with other departments for events, course setup, and food & beverage needs
• Operate and train staff on POS and credit card systems
• Assist with group lessons, junior golf clinics, and promotional communications
• Perform basic golf club repairs
• Promote and drive sales of all golf products and services
• Enforce club policies, dress code, and golf regulations
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pro Shop, Bag Room, Carts and entrances
• Assist members and guests throughout the facility as needed
• Perform additional duties as assigned
