Overview

Maplet øn Golf Club is a private facility located on the northern edge of Sioux Falls, SD. Upon opening in August 2025, the club became the first private "Golf Club" in the area and looks to build on the excitement created throughout the short fall season. The facility is comprised of an 18-hole Championship Course designed by architect Scott Hoffman, a 6-hole short course, practice facilities, 12-room lodge (opening April 2026), and clubhouse. The club is now looking to hire a qualifed professional going into the 2026 golf season and beyond.

Experience Required

• 1 or more years experience as a golf professional or actively pursuing PGA Membership in a timely manner as an Apprentice.

• PGA or LPGA member preferred.
• Has knowledge of the organization and management of a pro shop including staff, facilities and equipment management.
• Understands the rules of golf, the equipment used and golf tournament organization.
• Has knowledge of practice facility operation and management.
• Effective communication skills orally and in writing.
• Able to provide a high level of customer service with attention to detail.
• Proficient with common MS Office computer programs and experience with POS systems.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

• Seeing and hearing: read documents, computer screen, answer phones, communicate in person 50-100%

• Climbing, stooping, squatting and kneeling 0-24%
• Dexterity: utilizing phone, typing, and writing 25-50%
• Lift in excess of 30 pounds 0-24%

Essential Responsibilities

• Hires, trains, schedules and supervises cart attendants, players' assistants and golf shop personnel; Directs the daily operations of the pro shop and merchandise concession.
• Assists the Head Golf Professional in maintaining financial records, compiling monthly/daily revenue reports.
• Opens and closes pro shop per club standard operating procedures which includes assisting with register set-up and/or closing and proper handling of deposits.
• Assists the Head Golf Professional in gathering and submitting completed employee information for payroll processing on time.
• Monitors cash flow in the golf shop, ensuring that cash and credit card charges balance with sales receipts in accordance with operating procedures.
• Maintains accurate records of green fees and cart rentals.
• Controls and manages play; ensures acceptable pace of play and professional golf environment.
• Monitors customer preferences, usage patterns, and satisfaction with Club products and services. Assess the quality of internal and/or external customer service and speed of play. Recommends plans for continued improvement.
• Handles member and guest requests, complaints and inquiries with composure and in a timely professional manner.
• Helps plan, organize and conduct golf tournaments for members and on occasion, outside organizations.
• Ensures efficient operation and coordination of golf shop, cart service and other services as applicable.
• Completes basic club repairs and custom fitting to customer satisfaction.
• Devotes a reasonable amount of time to play golf with members of all skill levels.
• Demonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decrease turnaround time, streamline work processes and work cooperatively with others to provide quality customer service.
• Performs additional assignments per the direction of club or Company managers.
• Regular and punctual attendance on site for all scheduled shifts is required.
