OverviewNampa, ID | Ridgecrest Golf Club is a modern day links style course set in the old rolling corn fields of Nampa. Designed by renowned golf course architect John Harbottle III, Ridgecrest Golf Club offers something for everyone. With 27 holes, championship practice facilities, and a full service clubhouse Ridgecrest Golf Club remains one of Idaho's premier golf facilities.
Ridgecrest Golf Club offers 27 holes of golf and has been rated a four star course by Golf Digest. The course is made up of an 18-hole regulation layout varying from 4,900 to 7,000 yards.
In addition to the 18 hole regulation course, Ridgecrest presents an executive 9-hole course that stretches nearly 2,400 yards. Designed and built in 1995, Ridgecrest offers a links style course set in rolling cornfields with vast areas of water. Ridgecrest Golf Club offers opportunities for all levels of play.
Position Details | This position participates in the management of the daily operation of the golf course, driving range, pro shop, snack bar and balancing of the cash register; performs directly related work as required.
The principal function of an employee in this class is to maintain the daily operation of the golf course, driving range, pro shop, snack bar and the balancing of the cash register. The work is performed under the supervision and direction of the Head Golf Professional, but considerable leeway is granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. Supervision is exercised over employees involved in the golf shop and outside golf carts. The nature of the work performed requires that an employee in this class establish and maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees, sales representatives, golf course patrons, and the general public. The principal duties of this class are performed in a general office and golf course environment.
Experience Required
- PGA Associate Level 1 preferred but not required.
- If not already in the golf business, a serious love of golf as a player, a great attitude and a desire to interact and build relationships with golfers a plus.
- Basic understanding of the rules of golf.
- Reasonable ability to communicate in a professional manner very important.
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides collection of greens fees, coordinates play times accordingly, and begins golf play, including keying the greens fees into the cash register, indicating who has paid and who has not for each tee time, and starting the golf players according to tee times and whether payment has been made.
- Provides cash register reconciliation, including counting the money in the register, adding checks, credit card slips, and cash to reconcile with the register journal, and filling out the bank deposit slip.
- Provides golf lessons and golf clinics, including giving golf lessons to all skill levels and ages of males and females, and conducting group clinics for adults and children in groups that cover the fundamentals of golf.
- Provides tournament operations, including planning, coordinating and executing golf tournaments of all sizes, and preparing cart signs, scoreboards, rules sheets, tournament formats and scorecards for the tournaments.
- Keeps immediate supervisor and designated others accurately informed concerning work progress, including present and potential work problems and suggestions for new or improved ways of addressing such problems.
- Communicates and coordinates regularly with appropriate others to maximize the effectiveness and efficiency of interdepartmental operations and activities.
- Is punctual and timely in meeting requirements of performance, including attendance standards and work deadlines.

Compensation & Benefits
- This position is projected to be hourly a rate of $17 - 19/hour.
- From approximately Feb 15-Nov 15, this position will be scheduled for 36-40hrs/week, with some budgeted overtime based on events and business levels.
- From Nov 15 - Feb 15, this position will see a reduced schedule based on the Treasure Valley's typically winter business levels. Scheduled hours will likely range from 18-24hrs/week, but this could vary based on business levels and work/productivity of the candidate.
- If the candidate is already a PGA Associate, there will be opportunities to teach. Based on the candidate's qualifications, experience and ability to engage with our customer base, there will be opportunities to participate in clinics with adults, PGA Junior League, junior camps and clinics, ladies' "chip and sips" and individual lessons. Based on the candidate's ability, income could range from $1500-$4500 annually.
- At this time, this position is not eligible for health or similar benefits.
- Based on the candidate, their eligibility and participation in the PGAs PGM Associate program, there will be a possibility for PGM Program reimbursement.
- Assistant Professional will have access to the golf course, practice facilities and applicable employee discounts based on current facility policies and reasonable factors based on ensuring our customers get priority access to the facility.
