Description
OverviewA successful candidate in this position must consistently provide a positive and professional attitude at all times. This team member will have a strong presence within the golf shop and all member-facing areas and will be expected to go above and beyond to help deliver a first-class experience for members and their guests.
The Assistant Golf Professional will work closely with the Director of Golf and the rest of the Professional Staff to ensure complete member satisfaction from the moment a member arrives on property until the moment they depart. Due to the highly visible, daily nature of this position, the successful candidate must demonstrate a willingness to do whatever it takes, strong attention to detail, and an outgoing, service-oriented personality. This individual should take pride in their work and continually look for ways to positively impact the golf operation.
The successful candidate is expected to start February 1st; start date can be flexible depending on the successful candidate's schedule.
Experience Required
- PGA Member or Associate with private club experience preferred
- Strong passion to grow and learn, with a long-term goal of becoming a Head Golf Professional or Director of Golf
- Demonstrated proficiency with Golf Genius, including event setup, scoring, communication, and troubleshooting
- Comfort and confidence in teaching, with a strong interest in junior golf development
Essential Responsibilities
- Provides a welcoming and responsive environment to members and their guests; reserves tee times, books lessons, answers phones, and maintains a friendly, positive, helpful, and motivated attitude at all times.
- Works collaboratively with the golf staff to conduct golf shop retail operations; sells, displays, promotes, and merchandises inventory. Assists with scheduling and promoting demo days. Ships product and manages special orders. Maintains a thorough understanding of the point-of-sale system under the direction of the Director of Golf.
- Professionally, respectfully, and tactfully interprets, informs, and enforces club policies with members, guests, and staff.
- Actively involved in the management and execution of all club tournaments including, but not limited to, weekly men's events, weekly ladies' events, couples events, and all club major championships.
- Golf Genius knowledge is a MUST; candidate will be expected to take ownership of event setup, scoring accuracy, and member communication within the platform.
- Assists with individual instruction and golf programs, with a strong emphasis on junior golf clinics, lessons, and player development.
- Performs daily opening and/or closing procedures as designated; compiles and reviews daily work for completeness and accuracy and accurately completes POS end-of-day processing.
- Assists with inventory management, including conducting monthly inventories and preparing orders and returns.
- Along with the golf staff, ensures the correct appearance, organization, and cleanliness of the golf shop, stock room, equipment, and fixtures; reports deficiencies and maintenance concerns.
- Assists with training and supervision of the Golf Services Staff.
- Monitors and regulates pace of play as directed by the Director of Golf.
- Ready and willing to assist the Golf Services Staff when necessary.
- Performs other duties as designated by the Director of Golf.
