The Assistant Golf Professional plays a vital role in delivering an elite golf experience through member service, tournament operations, instruction, and daily golf shop support.

This position is ideal for a motivated, team-oriented professional seeking to advance their career in the private club sector while gaining exposure to all aspects of golf operations in a high-performing environment.

Experience Required

• PGA Member or Associate in good standing (or actively pursuing PGA membership).
• 1-3 years of experience at a private or resort club preferred.
• Strong understanding of daily golf operations, tournament management, and member service standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a passion for hospitality.
• Proficiency in Golf Genius, ForeTees, and POS systems such as Club Essential or Jonas.
• Ability to provide private and group instruction to players of all skill levels.
• Knowledge of the Rules of Golf and tournament administration.
• Strong playing ability and enthusiasm for representing Montammy in Section and Club events.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in the management of daily golf operations including tee times, member play, tournaments, and outings.
• Provide outstanding service to members and guests, ensuring a welcoming and professional experience on and off the golf course.
• Conduct individual and group instruction, junior programs, and clinics.
• Assist in the planning, preparation, and execution of all member tournaments and events.
• Manage and maintain an organized and professional golf shop environment, supporting merchandising and retail operations as needed.
• Perform starter and ranger duties as part of the professional team to ensure proper pace of play and course etiquette.
• Perform club repair, regripping, and equipment fitting services.
• Maintain a visible and active presence among the membership and on the practice facilities.
• Support golf staff training and mentorship of interns or seasonal assistants.
• Represent Montammy Golf Club professionally at all times, upholding the club's standards of excellence.
