Description
RESPONSIBILITIES: The City of Lawrence is seeking to fill the position of Assistant Golf Professional to provide golf professional services for the customers of the Eagle Bend Golf Course. Key job duties include supervision of golf shop and golf activities, and ensuring that all programs and services are conducted and fulfilled in a manner consistent with he goals and objectives of the Eagle Bend Golf Course. The Assistant Golf Professional my exercise supervision over part-time seasonal and volunteer staff. Other key job duties include assisting in instruction, merchandising, on-course activities and in human resource management responsibilities. The Assistant Golf Professional will also oversee all programming at the golf course to include golf leagues and new recruitment of leagues, Junior Golf and SNAG Program. This position is responsible for assisting customers by providing clarification and interpretation of policies, rules and regulations pertaining to the game of golf and operation of the golf shop. Responsibilities also include overseeing all group lessons and clinics as scheduled, and assisting with tournament organization, development and implementation.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Business English, mathematics and modern office procedures including computers, associated equipment and software for golf course management is required. The ideal candidate will have a good knowledge of policies, procedures and practices of Eagle Bend Golf Course. Must be able to perform golf club restoration and repair when required and work extended hours, weekend and holidays when needed. One (1) year of experience in golf course operations, management and programming. Completed PGA playing ability test.
