- Assistant Director, Financial Aid Systems
Description
Truckee Meadows Community College (TMCC), located in Reno, Nevada is seeking applicants for a full-time Assistant Director in the Financial Aid department. The Assistant Director of Financial Aid Systems will serve as an administrator and subject matter expert for financial aid systems (PeopleSoft and Hyland OnBase). The position will have day-to-day responsibilities ensuring that all financial aid systems, supporting technology, and ancillary software with connections to the financial aid system are strategically optimized, operational, effective, compliant, and up to date. The Assistant Director will support the Financial Aid Director with supervision, reporting, and strategic decision-making for the department. The Assistant Director will provide financial aid counseling to students, provide financial aid outreach as needed including evenings and weekend work, and other duties assigned by the Director of Financial Aid.
Requirements
Responsibilities:
- Maintain and enhance financial aid processes including forms, QBU’s, population selections, queries, and automated jobs, and batch packaging
- Manage annual setup which include aid year rollover, eligibility parameters, selection equations, item types, and packaging plans
- Work and collaborate with Nevada’s System of Higher Education System Computing Services to test and implement system upgrades, regulatory updates, and new functionalities
- Ensure integrity of financial aid data through quality assurance, process monitoring, and data reconciliation
- Develop and maintain ad hoc queries and reports to support operational and compliance needs
- Support the Financial Aid Director in the preparation of federal and state reports which include but is not limited to FISAP, IPEDS, GE/FVT
- Create and maintain detailed documentation of business processes, data definitions, and technical standards
- Provide technical training and support to the financial aid staff
- Assist with the quality assurance and management of audit queries to monitor staff accuracy and efficiency
- Represent the Office of Financial Aid, Scholarships, Student Employment in meetings related to systems, data governance, and compliance
- Independently assess complex issues and implement functional solutions to the financial aid process
Minimum Qualifications
1. Bachelor's degree in a related field and four (4) years of related professional experience OR
Associates degree and six (6) years of related professional experience
2. Knowledge of Title IV regulations and financial aid processes
3. Experience with any Student Information System (SIS) Financial Aid Module
Preferred Qualifications
1. Master's degree in a related field
2. Experience with the student information system: PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
3. Experience in working with financial aid software such as EDconnect, SAIG, COD, FPP, and NSLDS
4. Relevant functional analyst experience
5. Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
