Description

Assist Chief Operator in all the following:

•         Responsible for the day-to-day management of the entire system of Wastewater Treatment Plant
•         Responsible for permit compliance requirements established by the WV DHHR, WV DEP and the U.S. EPA.
•         Supervise WWTP Staff in daily operation of plant, lab operations and lift station operations
•         Operate WWTP in a manner consistent with MUB goals/guidance, in full compliance with the requirements established by the WV DHHR, WV DEP and the U.S. EPA.
•         Operate and maintain the established compliance monitoring program
•         Maintain WWTP equipment, buildings, and grounds in a clean and orderly manner
•         Maintain log sheets, books, spreadsheets, and other operational records
•         Ensure continuous operation of all plant equipment. Interface with maintenance to ensure uninterrupted operation. Assist in this endeavor when necessary.
•         Co-ordinate with Department Head regarding plant operations. Keep plant management and colleagues fully informed of ongoing operations
•         Acquire, maintain, and improve upon knowledge of plant functions, operations and maintenance, water treatment and water chemistry
•         Acquire, train, and maintain appropriate staff to meet company needs now and in the future
•         Dispatch WWTP staff daily to perform routine, as well as specialized, duties for the day
•         Review timesheets, POs, and various other managerial functions
•         Maintain a chemical inventory and general supply inventory
•         Assist Lab staff with compliance reporting
•         Work to develop and enact electronic data submittal capabilities 
•         Must be available to work weekends and be on-call 24/7
•         Required to attend Chief Operators class provided by WVDHHR/WVRWA
•         Performs other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
•         This position reports to the WWTP Chief Operator

Requirements

•         Currently hold a valid Class IV West Virginia Wastewater Certification
•         Valid WV Driver’s License
•         High School Diploma/GED and be at least 18 years of age
•         Ability to supervise employees
•         Must have working knowledge of the wastewater treatment process and related rules and regulations
•         Experience with and working knowledge of processes used at the Morgantown Wastewater Treatment Plant
•         Working knowledge of pumps and wastewater treatment equipment
•         Must be honest, reliable, committed to strict compliance with the requirements established by the WV DHHR, WV DEP and the U.S. EPA, protection of the environment, public      health, and the company mission
•         Math and mechanical skills
•         Ability to climb ladders and work in elevated areas
•         Basic experience using hand tools, hand operated power tools, and lawn equipment
•         Ability to work independently and part of a team
•         Ability to lift heavy objects and work in outdoor environments
•         Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
