Maps Credit Union is currently seeking an Assistant Branch Manager II to help lead a dedicated team of banking professionals with a passion for serving the Woodburn community. Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Lead, coach, and prioritize the development of the teller team, creating a highly engaged, goal-oriented environment through consistent one-on-one meetings.
- Responsible for seeing that day-to-day operational functions within the branch run smoothly.
- Ensure branch compliance with security and branch control policies and procedures. Responsible for ensuring branch audits are completed and demonstrating knowledge of internal controls.
- Foster a member-centric environment by training staff to warmly greet members, initiate needs-based conversations, and provide quality business partner referrals.
- Responsible for teller training, including: Identification of training needs, development of training plan and follow-through on training. Assist in the development of branch employees by seeking coaching opportunities.
- Utilize critical thinking to prioritize tasks, delegate effectively, and adapt to changing business needs.
- Maintain trusting relationships with internal and external partners to develop and implement effective systems that enhance employee support and member experience.
- Recognize and mitigate potential risks through informed decision-making.
- Recommend changes to policies and procedures that will improve the operation of the credit union. Implement changes agreed upon by the credit union management team.
- Maintain confidentiality and protect credit union operations by keeping negotiable instruments, cash, keys and member and/or credit union information secure at all times.
- Assist the Branch Manager in recruiting, interviewing and selection of branch employees.
- Assist members in resolving complex issues, providing exceptional member service. Handle member complaints and inquiries promptly and professionally.
- Further enhance member relationships through needs-based conversations, resulting in enhanced member relationships. Explain the features and advantages of credit union products or services to promote sales.
- Enhance job performance by applying up-to-date professional and technical knowledge gained by attending training sessions and reviewing professional publications.
- Function as a Teller and a Financial Services Officer as needed.
- Address employee performance issues with Financial Services staff in the absence of the Branch Manager by providing staff with clear and constructive feedback.
- Follow regulatory and policy compliance requirements, which include those efforts in compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Asset Control (OFAC) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) Regulations, Identity Theft Red Flags and other compliance-related policies.
- Associates degree in Business, Economics, Banking or equivalent financial experience and Business-related (i.e., accounting, economics, finance, management) college-level courses or financial industry-specific training.
- Minimum 3-5 years in financial industry in the following positions with demonstrated progressive responsibilities: Teller, Financial Services, and Lending.
- Minimum of 2-4 years experience in direct and indirect selling roles, or the equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Minimum of 1-2 years experience in a lead role.
- Must possess a valid Oregon driver's license for Business Development activities.
- Must be bondable.
Starting Exempt Salary Range: $64,355.35 - $71,505.94 per year, depending on experience. Opportunities to earn incentives for meeting assigned goals.
Schedule: Monday - Friday, business hours. Must be available to work rotating Saturdays.
