Shepherd University seeks an Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations and Compliance to join our team.
The Assistant Athletic Director for Internal Operations & Compliance is responsible for the oversight and administration of the department’s NCAA compliance program and internal athletic operations. This position ensures institutional control and adherence to NCAA, conference, and institutional regulations while supporting the daily operational needs of the athletics department. The role provides leadership in policy development, rules education, eligibility certification, and internal operational coordination.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in NCAA athletics administration or compliance.
- Strong knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, preferably at the Division II level.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain confidentiality.
- Experience working with compliance software (e.g., ARMS, Teamworks, or similar).
- Must be able to work evenings and weekends, as needed
- Must be able to travel, as needed
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous experience in NCAA Division II athletics.
- Experience supervising staff or graduate assistants.
- Knowledge of Title IX and student-athlete eligibility processes.
