Overview

Founded in 1930, Starmount Forest Country Club is an 18-hole private facility rich in history and
tradition. The course was originally designed by architects Wayne Stiles and John Van Kleek. In 2025 the
club completed a major renovation by renowned architect Kris Spence. Starmount Forest Country Club
co-hosted the Greater Greensboro Open (now the Wyndham Championship) with Sedgefield Country
Club in its first four years, from 1938 to 1941. It also hosted the tournament on its own in other years,
including 1942, and from 1953 to 1956. Additionally, Starmount Forest hosted the tournament for three
consecutive years from 1958 to 1960. In total, Starmount Forest was host of at least one round of the
PGA Tour stop on 16 occasions from 1938-1960. crowning champions including Sam Snead, Byron
Nelson, and Ben Hogan.

Starmount Forest is seeking a driven and service-oriented 1st Assistant Golf Professional to work closely
with the Director of Golf in managing the daily golf operation. This hands-on role will focus on all facets
of the golf experience-merchandising, tournament execution, player development, staff supervision,
and exceptional member service.

Experience Required

• PGA or LPGA Member (preferred) or actively pursuing membership
• Minimum 2 years of experience as an Assistant Golf Professional (private club experience
  preferred)
• Proficiency with Golf Genius tournament software
• Skilled instructor with experience in junior golf and club fitting
• Comfortable with technology (e.g., Foresight, video analysis)
• High attention to detail and excellent communication skills

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist in managing all aspects of daily golf operations
• Lead junior golf programming
• Provide private lessons, clinics, and custom club fittings
• Coordinate outing and tournament logistics using Golf Genius
• Support merchandise buying and inventory control
• Maintain a clean, organized, and high-end presentation of the Golf Shop
• Deliver exceptional member and guest service at check-in
• Actively monitor pace of play and support golf services staff
• Uphold club standards, policies, and procedures
